Biography of William Arvi Kyro
by John K. Dixon and Erick W. Kyro (April 2006)
Preface
William Arvi Kyro was a man who came to America from Europe in 1906. He was fleeing political oppression in Finland and seeking opportunity in Canada and the United States. In many respects he did achieve the American Dream. This opus is a brief story of his life. It is written by his son, Erick Kyro, who knew him well and worked with him in the 1930s, and 40s. The co-author is William’s grandson, John Dixon, who worked with him in the 1940s and 50s and lived in the same house for several years. We hope the book will help the descendants of William Kyro learn about their roots and will be of interest to others who are curious about history.
